Life is beautiful to whomsoever will think beautiful thoughts.
There are no common people but they who think commonly
and without imagination or beauty.
Such are dull enough.

Stanton Davis Kirkham

Life is beautiful for those whose souls are alive. Life is beautiful for those who recognize the beauty of his Maker. Life is beautiful for those who seek beauty. Lie is beautiful for those who love life...

Life is brimming with things to be discovered and known,
skills to be mastered, challenges to be overcome.  And when
you are discouraged, dig a hole in the earth and think of the
possibilities.  So many things can be planted in your lifetime,
skills that once mastered will bear fruit forever. . . . Pluck
up some enthusiasm for the business of life, for the loamy
matter that supports us all.  Become a handyman and spread
your skills wide, digging deeper into the earth’s crust
to uncover its secrets.

Christopher Kimball

This is the essence of life -- growth. Nothing can stop life. Life is always as it is. If there is end to life, the end is only in our thinking. For when life stops, death begins; death in our thinking.

A tree has both straight and
crooked branches; the symmetry
of the tree, however,
is perfect.  Life is balanced
like a tree.  When you consider
the struggles, difficulties, and
sorrows as a part of it,
then you see it as
beautiful and perfect.

George M. Lamsa

No matter how crooked a tree's branches are, it all point to one direction--up. The taller the tree is, the deeper its roots are. The stronger the tree, the firmer it withstands all kinds of weather that may hit it. I'd love to become like the tree.

Life Quote of the Day - Saturday, August 6, 2011

Prayer is not a stratagem for occasional use, a refuge to resort to now and then.  It is rather like an established residence for the innermost self.  All things have a home:  the bird has a nest, the fox has a hole, the bee has a hive.  A soul without prayer is a soul without a home.

Abraham Joshua Heschel

Prayer is the only medium that connects us to our Creator and Maker. If we set aside prayer, we are setting aside our Maker, thereby setting aside his breathe inside of us. As a result, we are confused souls lost in the wilderness of our daily existence.

Be courteous to all, but intimate with few, and let those few be well tried
before you give them your confidence.  True friendship is a plant
of slow growth, and must undergo and withstand the shocks of adversity
before it is entitled to the appellation.

George Washington

True friends are precious jewels hard to find. We may have many of them in times of our prosperity and may lose some in times of adversity. It is wiser to allow trials to test them before we know their true worth.
