What If?

It is where my hope begins. The question of "what if". All along I see life as hard and difficult to live. I was living in fear, to say the least. But then, God sent an angel to ask me, "what if you're negative belief is wrong? What if God would really grant your prayers?" And I said, yes, what if I could really live a fearless life, full of love, full of hope? A life where I can be at peace wherever and whoever I am with. A life where I could best express myself as I truly am. Yes, it is possible...

Forgiveness

Forgiveness

I think so many of us are too hard on ourselves for what we didn’t accomplish or what we should have done. The first step is to forgive yourself for all the things you didn’t do that you should have and all the things that you did do that you shouldn’t have. Get rid of the guilt. Negative feelings don’t do you much good. The way to deal with them is to forgive yourself and forgive others. . . .
Forgiveness helps you come to terms with the past. I've learned how to forgive myself, and this has helped me no longer feel deep regrets or sadness about my past.    -Morrie Schwartz

I learned a lot from forgiving others and forgiving myself. It frees my captured heart.

Take Up Your Cross

24Then Jesus said to His disciples, "If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me. 25"For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it; but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.…
 Matthew 16:24

From an ordinary man's viewpoint these words are rather hard to grasp, yet for the one who pledged, "okay Lord, I'll follow You", these words are very significant. It took me more than twenty years to understand the weight of Jesus' words. Jesus is no ordinary man. The depth of His faith is far more different. His visions are different. His way of thinking is different. His ways are different. He is different not because He is the Son of God, but because He knows the way of this world is not the way of God. And that is what He is following. Following Jesus is taking up our cross because, let's face it, only few have the guts and the heart to follow Jesus rightly. When we do good and are kind,  and yet still, we are criticized and being branded as weak, this is the first realization that we already are taking up our cross. Whatever the costs of our following Jesus would not matter, as long as deep in our hearts we believed, we are doing this for Heavenly gains.

Forgiveness

Jesus said, we must forgive seventy-seven times. I asked why for so long. The answer is being revealed to me slowly. Jesus knows that no one is perfect. Not our mate, not our kids, not our parents, not our co-workers, not the saleslady, not the people we meet in the street, not ourselves. If all of this people offends us, and forgiveness is not extended, what would happen to the race of Adam? If all of us learn to forgive, what a beautiful world this would be. However, it is too hard to forgive, right? Yet we have to, because when we master the art of forgiveness, the one who becomes mighty is not the offender but the offended. And in the end it no longer matters who have hurt us, or how badly and how deeply we have been hurt, but how peaceful are we when the matter is already placed in the hands of God.

Knowing What You Want

"When you know what you want, and want it bad enough, you will find a way to get it."

-Jim Rohn

Today this is a Facebook post of Zig Ziglar, one of my unmet mentors. I know you're on Facebook. Or perhaps the late Jim Rohn is one of your life's mentors too. I just love to repeat his words everywhere I could express it for easy recall. If these words ring a bell on you so is in me, much more perhaps. You see, there is just this one thing I really wanted bad enough. And I am doing all my capabilities to get it despite the odds. I'm twenty percent having it and is working my way to get it one hundred percent.

Serenity Prayer

God, give me grace to accept with serenity
the things that cannot be changed,
Courage to change the things
which should be changed,
and the Wisdom to distinguish
the one from the other.

Living one day at a time,
Enjoying one moment at a time,
Accepting hardship as a pathway to peace,
Taking, as Jesus did,
This sinful world as it is,
Not as I would have it,
Trusting that You will make all things right,
If I surrender to Your will,
So that I may be reasonably happy in this life,
And supremely happy with You forever in the next.

Amen.
